  • Heating

Your home’s heating needs can account for up to two-thirds of your annual energy bill, so it’s important that we inspect your current furnace to ensure it is not too old, too large or too small for the job it is being asked to do. Most U.S. homes are heated with either furnaces or boilers. Furnaces heat air and distribute the heated air through the house using ducts; boilers heat water, providing either hot water or steam for heating. Steam is distributed via pipes to steam radiators, and hot water can be distributed via baseboard radiators or radiant floor systems, or can heat air via a coil. Replacing the old furnace in your central heating system with a new, more efficient model can offset volatile energy prices. Money aside, today’s furnaces pollute less and boost comfort by producing heat more steadily than older furnaces. Gas is the most common heating fuel and this report focuses on gas furnaces. Each brand of furnace offers a similar array of key features, depending on price. Some of the features are: Variable Speed Blowing, Variable Heat Output, Air Filtration, Dual Heat Exchanger, Ignition System, Zoned Heating, and Warranty.

  • Cooling

A traditional home comfort system has two parts: an indoor unit, such as a furnace or air handler, and an outdoor unit. An air conditioner is the outdoor unit that cools air and sends it to the indoor unit for circulation through your home. Indoor and outdoor units are designed to work together. When the air conditioner is properly matched with a furnace or air handler, you get maximum efficiency and longer system life. A “split system” central air conditioner includes a compressor, fan, condenser coil, evaporator coil and refrigerant. The system removes heat from indoor air and transfers it outside, leaving the cooled indoor air to be recirculated. A central air conditioning system uses electricity as its power source. A Residential Split System Central Air Conditioning system keeps your entire home cool in the warmer months, while it helps lower indoor humidity levels. It is generally more efficient and less cumbersome – and always more attractive from the outside – to cool your home with central air conditioning rather than by buying separate units for separate rooms. In fact, it is also a healthier, less noisy solution.

  • Water Heaters

Residential water heating represents the second largest consumption of energy in the home, right behind heating and cooling. For many years, there was no official ENERGY STAR program for water heaters. But, beginning on January 1st, 2009 the DOE released their final requirement and established the ENERGY STAR program for residential water heaters.

  • Maintenance Protection Plan

Albert’s Heating and Air Conditioning’s Security Plus Protection Plan (SPP) is a service that regularly maintains your furnace and air conditioning equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and keep it in top working order. It’s a plan to prevent problems before they occur, ultimately, minimizing expenses with additional benefits.
